Over the past few weeks, we've quietly shipped a lot of improvements to Word2MD — the kind of updates we like best: useful, polite, and out of your way. Here's a short walkthrough of what's new and why we thought it was worth doing.
A cleaner home page that gets you to the work faster
We redesigned the landing page so the converter is right there, front and center. The hero area now features a subtle side-by-side visual — a Word document on the left, its Markdown twin on the right — to remind you exactly what Word2MD does the moment you arrive. No fluff, just a direct path from your .docx to clean Markdown.
Sign in with email, Google, or GitHub — whatever fits your workflow
You can now create an account with just an email and password, in addition to Google and GitHub. The sign-in popup is available in 16 languages, so if your team is international, they'll see the dialog in their own language. No surprise redirects, no sketchy permission prompts — just a clean one-click flow.
Real numbers, not vanity metrics
You may have noticed the "Documents Converted" counter on the homepage. It's no longer a hand-wavey number — it's a live count backed by our database and refreshed every few minutes. It also shows how many conversions happened today, so you can see the tool actually being used around the world as you browse.
Introducing Pro plans — built for people who batch-convert every day
Word2MD will always be free for single-file conversions. That won't change. But if you routinely convert dozens or hundreds of documents at a time, the new Pro plans are built for you — and they unlock the batch "Download All (.zip)" button.
- Pro — $9/month (or $7.2/month billed yearly): everything free users get, plus unlimited batch ZIP downloads, no ads, and up to 50 image-powered conversions per day.
- Pro+ — $19/month (or $15.2/month billed yearly): everything in Pro (including unlimited batch ZIP downloads), plus 200 image conversions per day and priority processing.
- Ultimate — $39/month (or $31.2/month billed yearly): everything in Pro+ (unlimited batch ZIP downloads included), plus unlimited daily conversions for teams and power users, with top-priority processing and dedicated support.
- Annual plans save you 20% compared to monthly — think of it as two months free.
A refund policy that treats you fairly
We added a clearly written Refund Policy, linked from the footer. The short version: if Pro doesn't work for you within the first 7 days and you haven't already used it heavily, we'll refund you, no drama. For yearly plans, we also offer prorated refunds for the unused months. We want you to upgrade with confidence, not regret.
Smaller things that add up
- Copyright year in the footer updates itself every January — a tiny fix, but one that means our site never looks dated.
- Hundreds of small polish fixes across layout, spacing, and responsiveness so the page feels more finished on every screen size.
- A new refund policy page, a working email sign-up flow, and an admin view for our support team to help you faster.
